Landscapes of the Interior

Craft and a sense of place

LOTI web image

Craft NI presents a series performances and discussions around the concept of sense of place, connections with the landscape and the art of storytelling. Singer-songwriter Martin Donnelly and ceramicist Deirdre Hawthorne will lead discussions with local artists, makers and craft enthusiasts in a series of intimate gatherings across Northern Ireland.

Following the event, participants are encouraged to visit and add to the Wordscape project, a community website developed by the Verbal Arts Centre and PLACE that explores how Ulster’s landscape and built environment have influenced its literature and language. The site is a rich document of image and text which anyone can add to and comment on: www.wordscapeni.com
