Forum for Alternative Belfast present 'Belfast / a method' at Golden Thread Gallery

Golden Thread Gallery invites you to get a bird’s eye view of the city. Belfast/ a method is an exhibition by The Forum for Alternative Belfast, a community interest company that campaigns for a more connected built environment for the city of Belfast and its people.

PLACE Urban Design Summer School Day Three | Sketching & Model Making

The PLACE Urban Design Summer School is a week long event for 14 - 20 years olds to explore architecture, design, public art, sketching, photography, urban history and more! The week offers the 27 young people registered a chance to learn about the built environment through exciting workshops, fascinating tours and more!

The Summer School is a part of 'out of PLACE' in Ireland's tallest building, The Obel. With support from Karl Group and McConnell Property PLACE are occupying the ground floor with fantastic views over-looking the River Lagan until September. Out of PLACE will also host the 'Secret Laboratories' exhibition and the 'RSUA President's Medal: The Shortlist' exhibition.

Let's see what everyone got up to on day three with a particular focus on Sketching and Model Making...

PLACE's Winter Wonderland


PLACE presents its Winter Wonderland Model-Making Family Workshops! Strictly limited places available on Saturday 5th, 12th or 19th December [5th and 12th December now fully booked] for primary school-age children to construct and bring home their self-designed Christmas Crib, Santa’s Grotto or Snow Palace. Materials will be provided.

Workshops start at 10.30am and will last approx. 2 hours - children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Please wear old clothing or bring an apron if you have one - it might get messy!

Places very limited. £4 per child (parent/guardian goes free).
