Mapping Belfast - A Workshop for Children

This Saturday (31st October), PLACE is holding an event in Belfast City Centre for children to explore and create maps of their city experience. 

Meeting at Belfast City Hall at 10.00am, participants will follow a guided walk through the city to PLACE- the Built Environment Centre on Lower Garfield Street (opposite Castle Court), where they will be given the opportunity to ‘draw’ their experience of the city as a map.

Children will receive a goody bag at the end of the event. 

The event will end at 12.00noon. The event is primarily aimed at children from 6-11 but others are very welcome!

KidsSpace Victoria Square and CastleCourt 20-21 February & 21 March

In February and March, Belfast Healthy Cities will host KidsSpace at Victoria Square Belfast and CastleCourt Belfast. The free events are designed to give children freedom to shape their own uses of the space. Activities offered are intended to spark ideas and encourage children’s own creativity and will include

  • Active Space-  make your own smoothies on our smoothie bikes
  • Creative Space-  artists to engage children in creative activities, including junk art and traditional toys
  • Free Spacemaking your own fun with giant building blocks and super-sized games.

KidsSpace is open to children of all ages and abilities who must be accompanied by an adult.  The event is supported by Public Health Agency, as part of the Family Friendly activities, co-ordinated by Belfast Health Development Unit.
