Many arts organisations are increasingly engaging with projects related to heritage, recognising that both sides of the partnership can add value to the other. Heritage, however, is not just ‘old stuff’, but requires specific skills and approaches. Funders are often disappointed having to turn down applications which lack substance and quality because of simple mistakes or misunderstanding.
We are working in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund to offer a free workshop to help organisations combine arts and heritage successfully.
The training will be led by Helen Perry, who runs the Causeway Museum Service, a co-operation between four district councils, widely recognised to deliver best-practice museum and community projects.
Stella McDermott, Casework Manager will represent Heritage Lottery Fund and there will be staff from our Culture and Arts Unit. The training session is aimed at arts and community groups who are interested in doing heritage projects.
There is an optional guided tour of the Ulster Hall after the workshop.
