Urban Pioneers
PLACE teamed up with the Architecture Foundation to deliver their Urban Pioneers programme in Derry~Londonderry - the first time the flagship youth programme has been delivered outside London. Together, we ran a series of free creative workshops with architects, artists, writers and designers to examine the built environment, through which we worked with seven young people from Derry~Londonderry and the surrounding area to make the pamphlet publication "An Inventory of Spaces in Derry".
The Architecture Foundation's Urban Pioneers education programme engages teams of 16 to 19 year olds in areas of cities undergoing dramatic change. Young people are empowered to critically explore the transformations happening around them and develop new skills through a series of workshops with professionals including architects, engineers, film makers, artists, designers and writers.
