The Open Source is a performance space, music venue and workshop hub bringing life back into an underused space in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter during the annual Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival.
The Open Source brings vibrancy to empty urban space and provides a platform for free workshops, performances and exchange of ideas throughout the day and into the early evening.
Run by volunteers and made possible by the donation of the space, furniture, equipment and the artists' time, The Open Source relies on the spirit of collectivism and collaboration to provide a dynamic and creative hub.
The Open Source 2015 takes place at 'The Big Table', a purpose built intervention on Lower Garfield Street from Friday 8 - Sunday 10 May. To volunteer as part of the team, click here. To submit an event as part of the programme, click here.

The Open Source is inspired by and named after the global Open Source movement in software and product design, which emphasises free access to a product's blueprint to support peer production, collaboration, sharing, and inclusiveness. Though we are unaffiliated with that movement, we want to acknowledge the efforts of Open Source Initiative in supporting and advocating for the benefits of Open Source Software.
