Landlord Mentoring and Capacity Building
Capacity Building and Mentoring Pilot for Landlords/Property Owners in Armagh City and Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown Town Centres
Capacity Building and Mentoring Programme was delivered to Landlords and Property Owners across Armagh City, Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown town Centres.
High levels of vacancy in town centres are an ongoing problem across Northern Ireland. It is a complex issue with many causes. Finding a solution requires creative thinking and a fresh approach. With this in mind, Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon Borough Council worked with PLACE to pilot a new scheme to provide local landlords and property owners with the right toolkit and knowledge to sell or rent their properties, avoiding unnecessary vacancy and potential property dereliction.
By signing up for this programme, landlords with property in Armagh City, Banbridge, Lurgan, and Portadown town centres secured free one-to-one business and development mentoring and guidance on how to manage their vacant property portfolio. They were given advice relevant to their specific circumstances on how best to attract suitable tenants and details of financial assistance such as small business rates and funding to improve their property’s appearance.
PLACE also developed a framework for approaching vacancy in town centres for the Council.
