Exhibition: Niall O'Hare - The Value of Darkness
7 May - 3 July 2015
Within human visual perception the influence of the value of darkness is all around us; we call this darkness - shadow. It can become un-noticed in its familiarity to us, remaining an undervalued ingredient in our perception and experience.
Shadow is a fundamental part of our perception of the visual world, particularly our experience of architectural space. This exhibition presents an opportunity to become familiar with shadow in close-up and will allow us to look at the detail of its form.
The models aim to draw your attention to the everydayness of shadow. By allowing your eyes between thirty seconds and a minute to adapt to the model’s darkness, you may become more aware of form or shape in the shadow you see.
